Where is my holdings data stored?
Entirely in your own browser, using local storage. There is no account, no sign-up and nothing is sent to a server, so only you can see it. The trade-off is that it stays on this device and this browser — clearing your browser data will erase it.
How is the value calculated?
Each holding is valued as weight in grams × the official Kijang Emas price per gram × its purity (916 uses × 0.916, 750 uses × 0.75, and so on). The total revalues automatically every time Bank Negara publishes a new fixing.
Is this what my gold would actually sell for?
No — it is the gold-content value, which is the useful benchmark for tracking. An actual buy-back offer sits below it because the dealer takes a margin. Check the sell-gold page to compare today's published buy-back rates.
Can I record jewellery as well as bars?
Yes. Record any piece by its weight and purity — 999, 916, 875 or 750. For jewellery, enter the gold weight, and remember the workmanship you originally paid is not recoverable when selling, so the tracked value reflects metal only.
What is the purchase cost field for?
It is optional. If you enter what you paid, the page shows your profit or loss in ringgit and percent against today's gold value, both per item and across your whole holding.
